Biography - Mr. Roger Gunn

Roger Gunn is an experienced arbitrator, mediator and facilitator.  He was a member of the Alberta Labour Relations Board from 2001 to 2013. Roger is on the roster of many organizations such as the Federal Mediation and Conciliation Service, where he serves as an Adjudicator and wage recovery Referee, the Sports Dispute Resolution Centre of Canada, serving as both a mediator and arbitrator, and the Alberta New Home Warranty Program. He has acted as an umpire for classification disputes between the City of Edmonton and the CSU #52.

Roger has over thirty years of labour relations experience in both the public and private sectors. While working as the Vice President of Human Resources and Educational Services at the Glenrose Rehabilitation Hospital, he negotiated collective agreements with the HSSA and AUPE bargaining units. His healthcare experience includes working at the Foothills Hospital, the Glenrose Rehabilitation Hospital and the Royal Alexandra Hospital.

Roger has taken numerous courses in mediation from the Alternative Dispute Resolution Institute of Alberta and has mediated disputes through the Civil Claims Mediation Program, Catholic Social Services Mediation Program and through the Mediation and Restorative Justice Centre. He has mediated workplace disputes in the Federal Government, institutes of higher learning, in private companies and with physicians.

He is a graduate of the University of Toronto (MBA) and the University of Ottawa (B. Comm.; B. Adm.). Mr. Gunn teaches labour relations and arbitration and mediation at the Northern Alberta Institute of Technology’s JR Shaw School of Business. He is also the President of the firm Win Win HR Solutions Inc.
