Tannis Brown - Director of Settlement
Tannis Brown is responsible for the processing and disposition of applications, complaints and other matters that come before the Board. She supervises the dispute resolution activities and investigations of the Board’s officers and directs the scheduling of hearings and informal pre-hearing settlement initiatives. Tannis previously served as a Labour Relations Officer with the Board from 2000 to 2004. Prior to returning to the Board as Director of Settlement in June of 2010, Tannis was the Director of Labour Relations Policy and Legislation with Employment and Immigration. Tannis is a graduate of the University of Alberta Business Faculty.

Nancy McDermid - Manager of Settlement
Nancy is responsible for the operation of the Board’s Calgary office and management of the Board’s caseload in southern Alberta. Based in Calgary, she also oversees the work of the Labour Relations Officers in both Edmonton and Calgary to ensure consistent application of the Board’s policies and procedures. Nancy joined the Board in 1988 after working several years with the Alberta Human Rights Commission. |

Janice Smith - Manager of Administration
Janice re-joins the Board after a 20 year absence. She first joined the Board in 1989 as Trade Union Records Officer and then spent three years as the Director of Administration. Since then she has spent time working in both private industry and government. This includes teaching networking in the IT field, facilitating focus groups, managing the law firm of Ackroyd LLP for 9 years and 8 years at the Appeals Commission for Alberta Workers’ Compensation as the Manager of Operations. She also served for 5 years as a Board Member of the City of Edmonton Advisory Board on Services for Persons with Disabilities, sitting on the executive and chairing various committees. |

Aaron Padnivelan - Labour Relations Officer - Edmonton
Aaron obtained his Behavioral Science Degree and his Bachelor of Commerce Degree with a human resources specialization in labour relations from the University of Calgary
. He joined the Alberta Labour Relations Board in 2003 and has expertise in almost all areas of the Board. In 2008, Aaron joined the Labour Relations Policy and Legislation unit of Alberta Employment and Immigration as a Labour Relations Advisor, where he worked on legislative amendments to the Labour Relations Code, various regulations and provided advice to government officials on matters relating to labour relations. Aaron returned to the Board in November 2010 as a senior officer and has once again taken an active role in all areas of the Board. In addition to his role with the Board, Aaron also serves the labour relations community as President of the Canadian Industrial Relations Association – Northern Alberta Chapter.

Bridget Oliveira, - Labour Relations Officer - Calgary
Bridget is a graduate of Laurentian University with an Honour’s Degree in Law and Justice. She has over 8 years of labour relations experience including work with the Air Traffic Control Association, CAW Local 5454 in Ottawa and most recently as a Senior Policy Analyst with the Federal Mediation and Conciliation Service, Labour Program. |

Barbara Cook - Labour Relations Officer - Calgary
Barbara Cook's career as an officer of the Board began in 1986. Her work experience includes service with the Alberta Human Rights Commission and with the Employment Standards Branch of Alberta Labour.

Dan Galdamez - Labour Relations Officer - Edmonton
Dan joined the Board in April 2008. Previously, Dan worked for the Health Sciences Association of Alberta (HSAA) as a Labour Researcher and a Labour Relations Officer. Prior to HSAA, Dan worked for the Governor General’s Canadian Leadership Conference as an Administrator. Dan has a Bachelor of Arts (Sociology) from the University of Alberta, and a Management Studies Diploma and a Human Resources Certificate from Grant MacEwan College.

Betty-Lou Stelling served as an employment standards officer prior to joining the Board. She spent 13 years at the Employment Standards Branch before joining the Board as a Labour Relations Officer in 1995. |

Chuck Toth - Labour Relations Officer - Edmonton
Chuck joined the Alberta Labour Relations Board as a Labour Relations Officer in March, 2009. In a Human Resources career that spans three decades, Chuck has held several HR roles in a variety of industrial sectors. Chuck graduated from Royal Roads University in 2004 with a Master of Business Administration degree in Human Resource Management and is also a Certified Human Resources Practitioner. |

Don Watson - Labour Relations Officer - Edmonton
Don Watson has worked with Syncrude Canada Ltd., the Government of Alberta and British Columbia, as well as with two post-secondary institutions in the fields of labour relations, occupational health and safety and recruitment. He has been involved in a variety of change management initiatives such as transferring, renewing and eliminating organizational units. He has also been extremely involved in collective bargaining, investigations and dispute resolution. As a proponent of life-long learning, he has completed a Master's Degree in Public Administration, graduate courses in adult education and a CHRP designation. He is an active volunteer and has served as Director on various boards, most recently for the Alberta 55 and older Games in Fairview. |

Pauline Briggs joined the Board in 1981 and has served in all administative roles at the Board. She is currently the Assistant to the Legal Counsel and the Board's Webmaster, Publications Officer. |

Marlene Leslie - Executive Assistant to the Chair - Edmonton
Marlene commenced her tenure with the Provincial Government on December 23, 1985 holding positions with the Public Affairs Bureau AV & Exhibit Services, Employment Standards as well as with the Labour Relations Board in Calgary prior to returning to Edmonton when she became the Executive Assistant to the Chair in May 2000. |
